Fibre
The wool fibres are sourced from Australia. The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands, where the yarn is also spun and dyed. Thanks to their soft hooves and gentle feeding habits, alpacas have a light impact on the land on which they graze. To ensure the structural stability and durability of the yarn, a polyamide fibre is used. We aim to avoid synthetic fibres in our collections, but here it gives the alpaca yarn structural stability for the best possible quality.
Fabric
Our knitted baby alpaca and wool blend is lightweight, incredibly soft and naturally warm. Baby alpaca adds luxurious softness, while wool provides warmth and structure. Together, they create a cosy, lightweight fabric with a beautifully soft hand feel. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment, minimising waste. Panels and trims are then hand-linked for a premium finish and high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
