Fibre
Our wool is supplied by Südwolle, a family-owned German company that has specialised in spinning wool since its foundation in 1966. The wool fibres are sourced from merino sheep in Australia and South America.
Fabric
The garments are knitted in the finest quality pure merino wool which is beautifully soft. The wool yarn can be dyed at different stages of production, either dyeing the fibre before spinning (top-dyed) or dyeing the yarn after it has been spun. We prefer to use top-dyed as this results in melange colours and a better hand-feel. We work with a fine yarn count, and twist together multiple strands to create a thicker yarn for heavier weight knitwear. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
Our supplier is based in China, in a small factory that specialises in fine-gauge knitwear. We have been working closely with Jerry and his team since 2012.
