Fibre
The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands. Alpacas' impact is light on the land they graze which makes them one of the most environmentally friendly animals. Our wool fibres come from Argentina and Uruguay and are mulesing-free. To ensure the structural stability and durability of the yarn, a polyamide fibre is used. We aim to avoid synthetic fibres in our collections, but here it gives the alpaca yarn structural stability for the best possible quality.
Fabric
Our wonderfully soft baby alpaca and wool yarn is knitted with alpaca bouclé yarn which creates textured and warm garments. Bouclé means that the yarn is made from looped fibre along the thread and when knitted it creates a lovely curly texture. It not only looks great, but also makes additional air pockets for extra warmth. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
