This month we asked Elle Wright, successful lifestyle blogger behind the
gorgeous Feathering The Empty Nest blog to reveal her Christmas wishlist. Be
inspired by Elle's selection of beautiful styles that were made to celebrate in,
this festive season. From cosy knits to party pieces, treat yourself or a loved
one to a little bit of Wrap this Christmas.
My Christmas list always has clothes on it, without fail. There are some things that feel
that much more special when you get them and wear them at Christmas time, and I love
opening cosy knits and a new dress on Christmas morning! I think the temptation at
Christmas time can always be to go for festive clothing; patterns, colours and themes
that let's face it, only look good on Christmas day. I much prefer a classic look, and I
always prefer asking for pieces that I will wear far beyond the big day and hopefully next
Looking through the Wrap collection it was so hard to make a wish list as there are so
many things that I would love to unwrap this year. The knits are all divine and the
blouses, dresses and jackets are all so versatile in style, which makes it so hard to pick
as I just loved it all. I've done my best to narrow them down to my festive favourites;
things I think are great investments and things I'll most definitely be pulling out of the
wardrobe come next winters. Here's my edit of the perfect presents to find under the
tree this year...
Cashmere! Would it even be Christmas if I wasn't lusting after new cashmere? Since I
was a little girl I have had a "thing" about dreamy, soft cashmere sweaters; I can
remember whenever my Mum or my Grandma wore a cashmere sweater I would obsess
over stroking the cuffs when they held my hand so I could feel the softness (probably
not their favourite habit of mine if truth be told?!). I know it is an investment, but it is
so worth it. I love the cosiness of a cashmere knit so have chosen two of my favourites
for the festive season.
The Irma Cashmere Sweater is a beautifully long design, perfect for wrapping up warm
on those colder days. It's perfect to pair with jeans, and the long sleeves with turned up
detail keep even the coldest of us warm all day! There are so many stunning colours to
choose from, but I love the "Soft Sienna", as I am a sucker for Autumn/Winter shades
and this one is just the part.
My second cashmere pick is the Alana Cashmere Sweater. This one is shorter in design
and perfect to wear with a midi skirt to any festive gathering. This dreamy soft pink
makes a welcome change from the bright and festive knits, and is something I will no
doubt be wanting to wear again and again. The relaxed fit and curved hemline are so
much more flattering than a clingy knit; I am in love!
I have really struggled to find a perfect funnel or roll neck jumper this season; but the
Julie Sweater is definitely it! This knit is perfect for everyday and is so cosy to curl up in
next to the fire with a cup of cocoa. Equally I can see myself wearing this out for dinner
with friends. I love the stitch detail down the sleeve and the Warm Ecru colour is
perfect in my winter wardrobe. There is nothing like a sweater that you can pull on and
know it will suit most occasions, and this is definitely one of those!
I'm not really a blouse wearing kind of girl; that said, the Rochana Blouse was a must for
this list; I simply couldn't leave it out. It is effortlessly chic and looks great dressed with
jeans or with a skirt for any Christmas gathering. For me it's the perfect Boxing day
piece; floaty and flattering, with dreamy blouson sleeves that don't cling like so many
blouses I have tried. I love the Mink Grey, it's a stunning silvery tone that looks
beautiful dressed up with the right jewellery. The tassel is detachable too; which makes
it even more versatile to wear. Whether you've got Christmas drinks or a New Year's
gathering, this blouse is the perfect partner for both.
What can I say about the Clara Dress? Two words; Christmas Day. Every year I wear a
dress on Christmas day, I cannot help myself. I think it stems back to my childhood and
my Mum always dressing us in a "special outfit" for the day; that has most definitely
stuck with me! I love that feeling that you are wearing something special for the day,
just to be at home; it always makes me feel so much more festive. The embroidery and
detail on this dress are exquisite; the gold against the black is so striking. It is truly
flattering and the mother of pearl button detail makes it that little bit more special. I'll
be wearing it with tights and ankle boots on the big day, and I cannot wait!
It is always so hard to pick, especially at this time of year when the choice can be so
overwhelming when you shop; but I hope my favourite five festive picks have helped to
give you some festive inspiration this year. Here's hoping that you'll be finding some of
these under your tree too...
